The ADuM744x is based on Analog Devices
iCoupler® technology
Quad digital isolatorSeries. These isolators combine high-speed CMOS and monolithic air-core transformer technology to provide excellent performance characteristics that outperform optocouplers and other integrated couplers.
The ADuM7444x family of quad 1kV digital isolated devices is available in a small 16-lead QSOP package. Compared to the ADuM7444x that saves almost 70% of board space in a 16-lead SOIC wide-body package with most quad isolators, it can still withstand high isolation voltages and meet regulatory requirements such as UL and CSA standards (under approval). In addition to saving space, the ADuM744x is less expensive than 2.5 kV or 5 kV isolators for applications that require only basic isolation.
Like many of Analog Devices' isolator products, this product family consumes very low power, consuming one-tenth to one-sixth the power of comparable isolators at data rates up to 10 Mbps. In addition to low power consumption, all ADuM744x models have very low pulse width distortion (
The ADuM744x isolators provide four independent isolation channels in a variety of channel configurations with three data rates (refer to the ordering guide) up to 25 Mbps. All models have a supply voltage range of 3.0V to 5.5V at either end, providing compatibility with low-voltage systems and enabling voltage conversion through the isolation barrier. In addition, in the absence of input power, the default output for all models is a high logic state.
