The AFE5808 is a highly integrated analog front-end (AFE) ultrasonography in which solutions are specifically designed for systems required for high performance and small form factor. The AFE5808 integrates a complete time-gain controlled (furnace TGC) imaging path and a continuous wave-Doppler (CWD) path. It also enables users to select different combinations of people/noise with different capabilities to optimize system performance. Therefore, AFE5808 is a suitable ultrasound analog front-end solution not only for high-end systems, but also for portability.

The AFE5808 contains eight channels of voltage-controlled amplifiers (VCAs), 14/12-bit analog-to-digital converters (ADCs), and continuous mixers. The voltage-controlled amplifiers include low-noise amplifiers (LNAs), voltage-controlled attenuators (VCAT), programmable gain amplifiers (PGAs), and low-pass filters (LPFs).
