The A3901 is a full-bridge motor driver for low-voltage portable applications involving bipolar stepper or brush DC motors. This output is best suited for low-voltage dips, with currents up to ±400 milliamps (equivalent to ±800 milliamps of parallel output) and an operating voltage range of 2.5 to 5.5 volts.
(IN1 to IN4) Four inputs are capable of controlling bipolar stepper motors in full and half step modes, or DC motors in forward, reverse, and brake modes. Input pulse width modulation (PWM) can be controlled for current or speed up to 250 kHz.
The internal protection circuitry features thermal shutdown (TSD) and crossover (breakdown) protection.
The A3901 is housed in a ten-pin MLP package labeled 3 x 3 x 0.75 mm with an exposed thermal gasket ("EJ" package). The small package is lead-free and has a pin frame with 100% matte tin plating.
