The A4403 is a step-down converter with valley current feedback control. This control method ensures extremely low switching times, making it ideal for applications requiring high switching frequencies and high input and low output voltages.
Support for smaller and lower value inductors and capacitors with high switching frequencies up to 2 MHz for low cost. In addition, due to the high degree of integration, the external components required are minimized. The device uses an optimal drive circuit to minimize switching losses.
The switching frequency remains constant at all times as the input voltage adjusts the switching time. This feedforward control ensures ideal line correction. The switching time is set by an external resistor that controls the input voltage.
When the device is first powered on and started, a user-configurable soft-start function is enabled to minimize inrush current and prevent output overshoot. Installing small ceramic capacitors provides internal management and guidance voltage. In addition, a fast charge pump is provided to ensure proper operation at light loads.
Internal diagnostics provide comprehensive overcurrent, input undervoltage, and overtemperature protection.
The device is available in a 16-contact, 4 mm × 4 mm, 0.75 mm nominal total height QFN package with an exposed heatsink for enhanced thermal functionality. They are all lead-free and 100% matte tin plated.
