The A4403 is controlled with valley current feedbackBuck converter。 This control method ensures very low switching times, making it ideal for applications requiring higher switching frequencies and high input voltages and low output voltages.
High switching frequencies up to 2 MHz enable smaller and lower inductors and capacitors to achieve low cost. In addition, due to the high level of integration, the required external components are minimized. The device uses optimal drive circuitry to minimize switching losses.
Since the input voltage adjusts the switching time, the switching frequency always remains the same. Feedforward control ensures ideal line correction. The switching time is set by an external resistor that controls the input voltage.
A user-configurable soft-start feature is enabled at first power-up and start-up of the device to minimize inrush current and prevent output overshoot. Only small ceramic capacitors need to be installed to provide internal management and guidance voltage. A fast charge pump is also available to ensure proper operation at light loads.
Internal diagnostics provide comprehensive overcurrent, input undervoltage, and overtemperature protection.
The device is available in a 16-contact, 4 mm × 4 mm, 0.75 mm nominal total height QFN package with exposed heatsink for enhanced thermal dissipation. The packages are lead-free and feature 100% matte tin plating.
