The A4900 is a high-voltage, high-speed power IGBT or MOSFET driver that can provide three independent half-bridge channels for three-phase applications.
Bootstrap capacitors are used to provide the battery supply voltage described above required by N-channel MOSFETs or IGBTs used as high-current switches. The device enables direct control of all six gate drives in a three-phase bridge, allowing the motor to be driven by block rectification or sinusoidal excitation. Integrated cross-control and fixed no-induction time avoid power switch cross-conducting.
Integrated diagnostics provide indications of undervoltage, overtemperature, and power bridge failures. They can be configured to protect power switches in most short-circuit situations. Detailed diagnostics are available in the form of serial data word outputs.
The A4900 is available in a lead-free (Pb) 44-pin QSOP package with the suffix LQ and features a 100% matte tin-plated pin frame.
