A6264It is linear and programmableCurrent regulator, which provides 100 mA each of the four outputs to drive the high-brightness LED array. For parking and taillight applications, the LED current can be switched between high and low current. The two-stage LED current (accurate to 5%) for each output is set by two reference resistors. Without the use of ballast resistors, the current matching per string is better than 10%. The use of constant current drives LEDs to ensure safe operation and provide the maximum possible illumination output.
For automotive applications, optimal performance is achieved when using 1 to 3 LEDs in each string to drive 4 strings with a total current of up to 100 mA each. The outputs can be paralleled or idle as needed.
Provides short-circuit detection to protect the LED and A6264 when any LED output pin is shorted to ground. An open LED in any string disables all outputs, but the feature can be overridden. The fault flag shows a shorted LED output pin or an open LED.
Temperature monitors are included to reduce LED drive current if the die temperature exceeds thermal thresholds.
The device is available in 10-pin MSOP (LY) and 16-pin TSSOP (LP) packages, both of which feature exposed heatsinks for enhanced heat dissipation. The packages are Pb-free and the leadframes are 100% matte tin.
