The A8304 is a single-channel low-noise module regulator (LNBR). The A8304 consists of a monolithic boost converter and a low-dropout linear regulator. Designed specifically to provide power and interface signals to LNB downconverters over coaxial cable in satellite TV receiver systems.
The A8304 has an integrated boost switch and compensation circuitry, requiring only a small number of external components. The use of a 704 kHz switching frequency and user-controlled output current limit greatly reduces the size of passive filtering elements.
The I2C-compatible™ interface combines control and diagnostics to meet the requirements of complex systems and report system faults.
The "sleep pin" minimizes power consumption and allows the device to be quickly shut down when necessary without invoking 2C™ control.
The A8304 is available in a small 3×3 mm QFN package with an exposed heatsink to assist with heat dissipation. The package is a lead-free (Pb) package with a 100% matte tin plated pin frame.
