ATS685LSH is an optimized combination of Hall-effect integrated circuits and rare earth magnets to provide a user-friendly solution for true zero-speed digital gear tooth sensing for two-wire applications. The sensor IC is housed in a single-pulse molded plastic package that includes samarium-cobalt magnets, pole pieces, and a Hall-effect IC optimized for magnetic circuits. The small package can be easily assembled and used on gears of different shapes and sizes.

The IC combines a two-element Hall-effect IC with a signal processing circuit to switch and operate in response to differential magnetic signals generated by ferromagnetic targets. The device contains a complex compensation circuit that eliminates magnet and system bias. Digital tracking of analog signals is used to achieve true zero-speed operation. Advanced calibration algorithms are used to adjust device gain and bias at start-up, resulting in air-gapped independent switching points that greatly improve output accuracy. In addition, the advanced algorithm can also reduce the adverse effects of system anomalies, such as target vibration and sudden changes in the air gap.

Adjust the current output to meet the requirements of two-wire operation. The sensor ICs are ideal for obtaining edge and operating cycle information in gear tooth applications such as transmission speed.

The ATS685 is available in a lead-free (Pb) 4-pin single-in-line package (SIP) with 100% matte tin plating on the pin frame.
