The bq29330 is a 2-, 3-, or 4-cell lithium-ion battery pack fully protected analog front-end (AFE) IC that integrates a 2.5-volt, 16-amp, and 3.3-volt, 25 mA low-dropout regulator (LDO) regulator. The bq29330 also integrates an I2C compatible interface to extract parameters such as battery voltage, cell voltage, and control from the battery. Other parameters such as current protection thresholds and delays are also programmed into the BQ29330 to increase the flexibility of the battery management system.

The BQ29330 provides safety guarantees for discharge conditions, overload, short circuit responsibility, and short circuit, and can also provide battery overvoltage, battery voltage and battery management host and battery undervoltage protection.
