The DAC-8426 integrates four 8-bit output CMOS DACs on a single chip. The latch and interface control logic are set via a 10 V output bandgap reference.
When the write strobe is enabled for low, one of the four latches selected by the address input is loaded from the 8-bit data bus input. All digital inputs are TTL/CMOS (5V) compatible. The on-chip amplifier can drive loads up to 10mA from a single or dual supply. The on-chip reference is always connected to the internal DAC and provides 5mA to drive the external device.
Small size, low power consumption, and low cost per channel make the DAC-8426 ideal for applications that employ multiple D/A converters without sacrificing board space. System reliability is improved due to the reduced number of devices.
Analog Devices' advanced oxide, silicon gate CMOS process enables the production of analog and digital circuits for the DAC-8426 on the same chip. In addition, Analog Devices' highly stable thin-film R-2R resistor trapezoidal network also facilitates matching and temperature tracking between DACs.
