The encoding method of DAC8512 is standard binary, and MSB is loaded first. The output op-amp can swing up to any supply rail and is set to a range of 0 V to +4.095 V with a resolution of 1 mV per user. It is capable of providing 5 mA of sink and source current. The on-chip reference is laser-tuned to provide a precision full-scale output voltage of 4.095 V.
The high-speed, three-wire serial interface is DSP-compatible and offers three pins: Data Input (SDI), Clock (CLK), and Load Strobe (LD). There is also a chip selection pin for connecting multiple DACs.
When powered on or requested by the user, the CLR input can set the output to zero.
The DAC8512 is rated for an industrial temperature range of -40°C to +85°C and is available in both molded DIP and SO-8 surface mount packages.
