The transceiver is compliant with both TIA/EIA-485-A and TIA/EIA-422-B standards. DS16F95A provides improved performance thanks to the use of L-FAST bipolar technology. L-FAST technology allows for higher speeds and lower currents, minimizing gate delay times. DS16F95A feature extends the temperature range of the stage and provides a rugged ceramic package. DS16F95A combines a three-state differential line driver and a differential input line receiver, both of which operate from a single 5.0V supply. The drive and receiver can be actively enabled by an external connection to the directional control function. The driver differential output and receiver differential input are internally connected together to form a differential input/output (I/O) bus port design provides a minimum load bus when the driver is disabled or when V CC = 0V. These ports feature a wide range of positive and negative common-mode voltages, making the device suitable for multi-point applications in noisy environments. The driver is designed to accommodate loads up to 60 mA of absorb or source currents and has positive and negative current protection line fault conditions limits. The device offers a rugged 8-lead ceramic DIP package and features an extended stage temperature range of -55°C to +180°C.
