The DS18S20-PAR digital thermometer provides 9-bit Celsius temperature measurement and a user-programmable nonvolatile up and down trigger point alarm. The DS18S20-PAR does not require an external power supply because it comes directly from the power of the data line ("parasitic power"). The DS18S20-PAR is more than a 1-Wire® bus, and its definition requires only one data line to communicate with the central microprocessor and to the ground. It has an operating temperature range of -55°C to +100°C and an accuracy range of -10°C to +85°C above ±0.5°C.
Each DS18S20-PAR has a unique 64-bit identifier, which allows multiple DS18S20 PAHs to function on the same 1-Wire bus, so it is simple to use a microprocessor to control a large distribution of many DS18S20 PAHs. Applications that benefit from this feature can include HVAC environmental control, temperature monitoring systems within buildings, equipment or machinery, process monitoring and control systems.
