DS2408 An 8-channel, 1-Wire® chip with programmable I/O

Description The DS2408 is an 8-channel, programmable I/O 1-Wire® chip. The PIO output is configured as an open drain and provides a maximum resistance of 100Ω. A robust PIO channel access communication protocol ensures error-free changes to PIO output settings. An effective data gated output can be latched into external circuits, such as a D/A converter (DAC) or the PIO logic state of the microcontroller's data bus. The DS2408 operates with a single-conductor 1-Wire bus. The communication equipment is the Dallas Semiconductor standard 1-Wire protocol. Each DS2408 has its own immutable and unique 64-bit ROM registration number, which is the chip photolithography at the factory. The registration number, which ensures unique identification, is used to address devices in a multi-point 1-Wire network environment. Multiple DS2408 devices can reside on a common 1-Wire bus and operate independently. The DS2408 also supports 1-Wire conditional search based on PIO state or power-on reset activity, making conditions involved in conditional search programmable. The DS2408 has an optional V CC power supply connection. When external power is absent, the device's power supply is parasitic from the 1-Wire bus. When the external power supply is currently in the PIO state, it remains on the 1-Wire bus power supply. RSTZ signals are configurable services that serve as a hardlink PIO output reset or external circuit flash, indicating a completed PIO write or PIO read.
