The DS2430A 256-bit 1-Wire®EEPROM identifies and stores information about the product associated with it. This lot or product-specific information can be accessed with minimal interfaces, such as a port pin of a microcontroller. The DS2430A's factory-engraved registration number includes a unique 48-bit serial number, 8-bit CRC, and 8-bit family code (14H), plus 256-bit user-programmable EEPROM and 64-bit one-time programmable application registers. The read-write power supply for the DS2430A comes entirely from the 1-Wire communication line. With the 1-Wire protocol, only one data line and one ground loop are required to transmit data serially. The 48-bit serial number lithed in each DS2430A factory provides unique identity assurance of absolute traceability. TO-92 and TSOC packages provide a compact housing that allows accessories for handling equipment, printed circuit boards or wires with standard mounting equipment. Typical applications include storing calibration coefficients, board identification, and product correction status.
