The DS485 is a low-power transceiver for RS-485 and RS-422 communications. The device contains a driver and a receiver. Driver slew rates are allowed to run at up to 2.5 Mbps (see Application Information section).

The transceiver draws the supply current at 200 or completely offloaded driver loaded with disabled μA and is powered by a single +5 V supply.

The driver is short-circuit current limited and protects the three-state ® (high-Z) driver output against excessive power loss thermal shutdown protection circuitry in the event of a fault.
