The DS90UR905Q/906Q chip converts into a high-speed serial interface via a pair of parallel RGB video interfaces. This greatly simplifies serial bus planning by eliminating the problem of deviation between clock and data, system design, reducing connector pin count, reducing interconnect size, weight, and cost, simplifying PCBs and overall layout. In addition, internal DC balanced decoding is used to support AC coupled interconnects.
The DS90UR905Q (serial) embeds clocks, balanced data payloads, and horizontal transition signals, high-speed low-voltage differential signals. Up to 24 input sequences with three video control signals. It supports applications with full 24-bit color or 18-bit color and 6 general-purpose signals such as audio I2S.
The DS90UR906Q DES (deserializer) recovers data (RGB) and control signals and extracts the clock from the serial data stream. It is capable of locking input data streams without a special training sequence or using SYNC mode, and does not require a reference clock. Link state (LOCK) output signal is provided.
Serial transmission is optimized for user-selectable de-emphasis, differential output level selection function, and receiver equalization. Low-voltage differential signal transmission with minimized EMI, control of the drive intensity of the receiver, and spread spectrum clock compatibility. In Germany may be configured to produce a spread spectrum clock and parallel output of data.
The DS90UR905Q (SER) is available in a 48-pin LLP and DS90UR906Q is available in a 60-pin LLP package. They are specified for automotive AEC - Q100 Class 2 temperature range of -40°C to +105°C.
