The DS92LV3241 (SER) serializes the LVDS data payload rate of 2 or 4 (optional) embedded clocks for cable up to 2.72 or more, such as CA, or the FR-4 trace of the backplane Gbps serial channel 32-bit data bus. The companion DS92LV3242 (DES) deserializes two or four LVDS serial data channels, reverses the channel-to-channel delay change, and converts it into a 32-bit LVCMOS parallel data bus LVDS data stream.

On-chip data randomization/scrambling and DC-balanced coding and optional serializer pre-emphasis ensure a robust, low-EMI propagation over longer, lossy cables and backplanes. The deserializer automatically locks the incoming data without the need for an external reference clock or a special synchronization mode, providing a simple "plug-in and lock" operation.

Channel Link II SerDes devices embed clock and data payloads including signal conditioning capabilities that reduce tracking counts, eliminate skew issues, simplify design efforts, and provide lower cost cables/connectors for a wide variety of video, control, and imaging applications. The built-in full-speed BIST function verifies link integrity and can be used for system diagnostics.
