EVAL-AD7195EBZ 4.8 kHz, ultra-low noise, 24-bit, sigma-delta type ADC with built-in PGA and AC excitation

The AD7195 is a low-noise, complete analog front-end for high-precision measurement applications. It integrates a low-noise, 24-bit sigma-delta analog-to-digital converter (ADC). The low on-chip noise gain stage means that small signals can be input directly. The AD7195 has built-in AC excitation to eliminate direct sensing bias in bridge sensors.

The device can be configured as either two differential inputs or four pseudo-differential inputs. The on-chip channel sequencer enables multiple channels, and the AD7195 performs conversion on each enable channel in sequence, which simplifies communication with the device. The on-chip 4.92 MHz clock can be used as a clock source for the ADC; Alternatively, an external clock or crystal oscillator can be used. The output data rate of the device can vary from 4.7 Hz to 4.8 kHz.

The device is available in two digital filter options. The choice of filter affects root mean square noise and noise-free resolution, settling time, and 50 Hz/60 Hz rejection when operating at the programmed output data rate. For applications that require all transitions to be established, the AD7195 has zero latency. The device operates from a 5 V analog supply and a 2.7 V to 5.25 V digital supply with a power consumption of 6 mA and is available in a 32-pin LFCSP package.
