The 125 MBd Universal Link (HFBR-0507Z Series) provides the most cost-effective fiber optic solution for 125 MBd data transmission over 100 meters. The data link includes a 650nm LED transmitter, HFBR-15x7Z and PIN/pre-release receiver, HFBR-25x6Z. These devices can be used with low-cost plastic or quartz fibers. The 1 mm diameter plastic fiber provides the lowest cost solution for transmission over distances of up to 25 meters. The lower attenuation of quartz fibers helps to extend the data transmission distance with little difference in cost. These components can be used in high-speed data links at a more competitive cost without the common problems of copper solutions.
