塑料光纤终端有四种连接器类型：单工、单工锁定、双工和双工锁定。
所有连接器与通用链路部件相配时都为卡口连接。单工连接器有颜色编码，以便于识别发射器和接收器连接。 双工连接器配有钥匙以便插入时正确辨别方向。如果 POF 电缆/连接器将被用于极端操作温度或将要经历频繁且宽泛的温度循环，那么可以使用 RTV 粘合剂来增强电缆/连接器的连接（详见塑料连接说明）。连接器由阻燃的 VALOX UL94 V-0 材料制成（UL 文件号 E121562）。
