The HMC728 is a 2:1selector, designed to support data rates up to 13 Gbps, with selector ports operating at frequencies up to 13 GHz. The selector routes one of the two single-ended inputs to the differential output when the port is properly selected. All single-ended signals input to the HMC728 are terminated to on-chip ground through a 50 Ω resistor and can be either AC or DC coupled.
The output of the HMC728 supports differential or single-ended operation. The output can be connected directly to a 50 Ω terminated system, or DC blocking capacitors can be used if a 50 Ω terminated to a non-grounded DC voltage can be used. The HMC728 operates from a single -3.3V DC supply and is available in a RoHS-compliant 3x3 mm SMT ceramic package.
