The HMC728 is a 2:1 selector designed to support data rates up to 13 Gbps, with selector ports operating at frequencies up to 13 GHz. The selector routes one of the two single-ended inputs to the differential output when port placement is appropriately selected. All single-ended signals input to the HMC728 are terminated to the on-chip with a 50 Ω resistor and support AC or DC coupling.
The HMC728's outputs support differential or single-ended operation. The output can be connected directly to a 50-Ω termination system, while DC-blocking capacitors can be used if the 50-Ω termination is used to an ungrounded DC voltage. The HMC728 operates from a single -3.3V DC supply and is available in a RoHS-compliant 3x3 mm SMT ceramic package.
