"Intersil's ISL32613E and ISL32614E ± 16.5kV HBM ESD protection (7KV compliant with IEC61000 contact), 1.8V power supply, single differential communication transmitters, these drivers have very low bus currents (±40μA), so they are proposed to be more than "1/8 unit load" buses. This allows more than 256 transmitters on the network to have a maximum load of 32 units without violating the RS-485 specification and does not use repeater hot-swap circuitry to ensure that the Tx output maintains a high impedance state while the power supply is stable. Both ICs use slew rate to limit drivers, thereby reducing EMI and reflections from improperly terminated transmission lines or unfinished stubs in multipoint and multipoint applications. The ISL32613E is more slew rate up to the limit of 128kbps data transfer rate, while less limited, ISL32614E is useful for data transfer rates up to 256kbps.
