The ISL55211 is a wideband, differential input, differential output amplifier that offers three possible internal gain settings. Using a fixed 500Ω internal feedback resistor, the amplifier can be configured to 2, 4, or 5V/V depending on the differential gain of the combined input pin connected to the signal source. The internal feedback capacitor control signal bandwidth is a constant of 1. 4GHz at all gain settings.
Ideal for AC-coupled data acquisition applications, the output DC common-mode voltage is controlled via an external VCM pin or, by default, a negative supply pin above 1.2V. Where the differential signal source is AC-coupled, it will be equal to the common-mode voltage of the output of the input common-mode voltage.
For applications that anticipate very high dynamic range ADC interfaces, the ISL55211 provides a differential slew rate of 5600V/μs, 12nV/√Hz output noise, and > 100dBc SFDR> 2VPP100MHz two-tone third-order intermodulation. Its balanced architecture effectively rejects even-order distortion terms - an important problem for the application of the first Nyquist region ADC interface in a very wide frequency band. Its ultra-high differential slew rate of 5600V/μs provides sufficient performance headroom for large 500MHz applications.
The ISL55211 requires only a 3.3V (4.2V max) supply and 35 mA quiescent current, providing a very low power solution (115MW). Further power savings can be achieved using the optional power supply shutdown control - where quiescent current can be reduced to The companion device, the ISL55210, provides similar performance to the feedback and gain resistors that are external. Both are available in a 16-pin TQFN package (Pb-free) and are specified over an ambient temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.
