Product Introduction

description

ISL58797 is a highly integrated, single-supply laser diode drive that supports multi-standard writable CD, DVD and Blu-ray formats for disc drives at different speeds. This is part of a "hybrid" with an interface that is compatible with traditional LDDs, but with a similar write strategy to LDD's internals. This combination adds versatility to the traditional interface. ISL58797 also has PDIC (Optoelectronic Integration) control pins, which help reduce cable signal lines to Flex.

All output rise time, fall time and impulse are adjustable to compensate for high and low resistance lasers. The architecture of The ISL58797 includes double writing current banks, which can choose to use the bank's selection line, BSEL. This eliminates the need to synchronize the media. The oscillator, which is activated by an internal allocation scheme attached to any temperature state.

There is a 100Ω termination resistor inside the warm wire. The skew output of the text receiver has a detector.
