The ISL62773 is fully compliant with the AMD Fusion™SVI value 2.0 and provides a complete solution for desktop microprocessors and graphics processor core power. The ISL62773 controller supports three integrated gate drivers for two regulators (VR) and two optional external drivers for maximum flexibility. Core VR can be configured for 3-, 2-, or single-phase operation, while Northbridge VR supports 2-1-phase configurations. The two village representatives shared communication with AMD's CPUs to achieve lower cost and smaller board area compared to a two-chip solution for serial control buses. The PWM modulator is based on Intersil's robust ripple regulator (R3) technology ™. Compared to conventional modulators, R3's modulators can automatically change the time for faster transients to stabilize during load transients and improve light load efficiency switching frequency. The ISL62773 has several other key features. Both outputs support single DCR temperature compensation or accurate current sense resistors, NTC thermistors DCR current sensing. Both outputs utilize remote voltage sensing, adjustable switching frequency, OC protection, and power good.
