The ISL6328A dual PWM controller provides two synchronous buck DC/DC conversion efficiencies and is tightly regulated. The ISL6328A supports AMD processors, which are power controlled from a serial VID interface (SVI). The dual-output ISL6328A features a multiphase controller to support core voltage (VDD) and single-phase controller power supply northbridge (VDDNB). The precision core voltage regulation system consists of one to four phase PWM voltage regulator (VR) controllers. The integrated layout of the two power MOSFET drivers increases flexibility and reduces the number of external components in the multi-stage section. A single-phase PWM controller integrates a driver that provides a second precision voltage regulation system for the northbridge portion of the processor. This monolithic, dual-controller integrated driver solution provides a cost and space-saving power management solution. To reduce the number of bulk output capacitive load line programming applications, the ISL6328A has a temperature-compensated output voltage drop. The multi-stage section also includes advanced controls for optimal transient response, loading applications and removing loop functions. One of these features is highly accurate, sufficiently poor, continuous DCR current load line programming and channel current equalization induction. Dual edge modulation is another unique feature that allows for faster initial response to high di/dt load transients. The ISL6328A supports power-down mode when the number of PSI_L bits is set to a stage when the number of bits decreases.
