The ISL6328A dual PWM controllers provide two synchronous buck DC/DC converters with high efficiency and strict regulation. ISL6328A supports AMD processors, which are powered by a serial VID interface (SVI). The dual-output ISL6328A features a multi-phase controller to support core voltage (VDD) and single-phase controller power northbridge (VDDNB). The precise core voltage regulation system consists of a one- to four-phase PWM voltage regulator (VR) controller. The layout integrating two power MOSFET drivers increases flexibility and reduces the number of external components in multi-stage sections. A single-phase PWM controller integrated with the driver provides a processor for the northbridge section of the second precision voltage regulation system. This single-chip, dual-controller integrated driver solution offers a cost-effective and space-saving power management solution. This helps reduce applications programmed with high-capacity output capacitor load lines, ISL6328A output voltage drop with temperature compensation. The multi-stage section also includes advanced controls for optimal transient response, application loading, and loop removal functions. One of these features is highly accurate, sufficiently poor, continuous DCR current load line programming, and channel current balancing induction. Dual-edge modulation is another unique feature that allows for faster initial response to high-di/dt load transients. ISL6328A supports power-saving mode, which is set when the number of PSI_L is decreasing.
