ISL98003 all the features of a 3-channel, 8-bit analog front-end (AFE) that needs to be digitally analogued from HDTV tuners, set-top boxes, SD and HD DVDs, as well as RGB graphics signals from PCs and workstations. The fourth-generation analog system is designed to provide 8-bit performance and a maximum slew rate of 165MSPS, supporting up to UXGA resolution at 60Hz. The programmable input bandwidth on the front end ensures clear, low-noise images at all resolutions.

To speed up and simplify pattern detection, ISL98003 integrated a set of advanced measurement tools that fully characterize the video signal and timing, and offload the host microcontroller. Automatic Black Level Compensation (ABLC™) eliminates part-to-part cancel variations, ensuring perfect black levels in every application.

The ISL98003 digital PLL generates a pixel clock for the HSYNC SOG (Synchronized in Green) signal from the analog source. The pixel clock output frequency ranges from 10MHz to 165MHz, and the sample clock jitter is peak-to-peak at 250ps.
