description
The ISLA214S50 is a family of low-power, high-performance, 14-bit analog-to-digital converters. A standard CMOS process designed with FemtoCharge™ technology, the series supports sampling rates up to 500MSPS. The ISLA214S50 is part of a 12-pin compatible, 14-, and 16-bit A/D maximum sample rate from 125MSPS to 500MSPS. The home minimizes power consumption while delivering state-of-the-art dynamic performance.
The device uses two ADCs of a time-interleaved 250MSPS cell to achieve a final sampling rate of 500MSPS. A single 500MHz conversion clock converter with internal management of all interleaved clocks. Intersil's proprietary alternation engine (I2E) performs automatic correction of shift, gain, and ADC sampling time mismatches between units to optimize performance.
The ISLA214S50 offers a highly configurable, JESD204Bcompliant, high-speed serial output link. The link offers data rates up to 4.375 Gbps per channel and multiple packages. The link can be configured to use two or three channels of conversion data transmission, allowing flexibility in receiver design. The JESD204 transmitter also provides deterministic latency and multi-chip time series support to meet complex synchronization requirements.
The serial peripheral interface (SPI) port allows the ADC and a wide range of configurable ones, including JESD204B transmission, into its built-in link and transport layer test modes as well as programmable clock dividers to enable 2X harmonic clocks.
The ISLA214S50 is available in a space-saving 7mmx7mm 48 LD QFN package. The package uses thermal pads to improve thermal performance and is specified over the entire industrial temperature range (-40°C to +85°C).
