KITMPR084EVM Touchsensor

The MPR084 is an inter-integrated circuit bus (I2C) driven capacitive touch sensor controller designed to manage 8-button touchpad capacitive array sensors. The device supports multiple deployment methods with three output mechanisms and offers a large number of configuration options

• The polling system always maintains the current desired position of the trackpad
• 41μA average operating current, 1s response time
• 2μA standby current
• Variable Low Power Mode Response Time (32ms – 4S)
• Rejects multi-key detection caused by EMI events, such as PA bursts or user actions
• EMI events do not reset the trackpad for analysis and monitoring
• Data is buffered by FIFO to minimize access time
• IRQ output when the FIFO has data
• The system can immediately set the interrupt behavior within the shortest event or program interval after a successive interrupt
• The speaker emits keystrokes when touch-rotated
• Two hardware-selectable I2C addresses allow two devices to be configured on one I2C bus
• The operating temperature range is -40°C to +85°C
