The LM1086 is a low dropout positive voltage regulation 1.5V load current at 1.5A maximum dropout series. It has the same pin output as the industry standard LM317 for National Semiconductor.

The LM1086 is available in an adjustable version that can set the output voltage with only two external resistors. It is also available in six fixed voltages: 1.8V, 2.5V and 2.85V, 3.3V and 3.45V and 5.0V. The fixed resistor version incorporates the corresponding adjustments.

The LM1086 circuit includes a Zener trim bandgap reference, current limit, and thermal shutdown.

The LM1086 series is available in TO-220 and TO-263, and LLP packages. Please refer to Version 5A of LM1084 and Version 3A for LM1085.
