The LM1086 is a low-dropout positive voltage regulation of 1.5V with a maximum dropout current of 1.5A. It has the same pin output as the National Semiconductor's industry standard LM317.

The LM1086 is available in an adjustable version that can be set with only two external resistors. It is also available in six fixed voltages: 1.8V, 2.5V and 2.85V, 3.3V and 3.45V and 5.0V. The version with a fixed resistor integrates the corresponding adjustments.

The LM1086 circuit includes a Zener trim bandgap reference, current limiting, and thermal shutdown.

The LM1086 series is available in TO-220 and TO-263, and LLP packages. Please refer to version 5A of version LM1084 and version 3A of LM1085.
