The LM1086 is a low-dropout positive voltage regulator with a maximum dropout of 1.5V series at load current of 1.5A. It has the same pin output as the National Semiconductor's industry standard LM317.

The LM1086 is in an adjustable version that can be set with only two external resistors available for output voltage. It is also available in six fixed voltages: 1.8V, 2.5V, 2.85V, 3.3V, 3.45V, and 5.0V. The fixed version integrates an adjustment resistor.

The LM1086 circuit includes a Zener trim bandgap reference, current limiting, and thermal shutdown.

The LM1086 series is available in TO-220, TO-263 and LLP packages. Please refer to LM1084 for version 5A and version LM1085 for version 3A.
