illustrate
The LM20242 is a full-featured 1MHz synchronous buck regulator capable of delivering up to 2A load current capability. The current-mode control loop is externally compensated with only two external components, providing both high performance and ease of use. The device is optimized for operation over an input voltage range of 4.5V to 36V, making it ideal for use in high voltage systems.
The device has internal overvoltage protection (OVP) and overcurrent protection (OCP) as circuitry to improve system reliability. Precise enable pins and integrated undervoltage lockout allow steering of tightly controlled and sequencing devices. The start-up inrush current limit is both internally fixed and externally adjustable soft-start circuitry. Fault detection and power sequencing are possible with integrated PGOOD circuitry.
The LM20242 is designed to work well in multi-rail power structures. The output voltage of the device can be set to a higher voltage rail tracking using the stainless steel/tilk pin. If the output prebias of the LM20242 is turned on, it will not sink current and pull until the internal soft-start ramp output low exceeds the voltage at the feedback pin.
The LM20242 is supplied in a 20-pin TSSOP package with an exposed pad that can be soldered to a printed circuit board, eliminating the need for bulky heat sinks.
