The LM3102 synchronous rectification buck converter has all the features needed to achieve a high efficiency and cost-effective buck regulator. It is provided with a low voltage load capability of 0.8V with the same output of 2.5A. Dual N-channel MOSFET switches allow synchronization of low component counts, reducing complexity and board size.

Unlike most other COT regulators, the LM3102 does not rely on ESR stabilization of output capacitors and is designed very well for ceramic and other very low ESR output capacitors. It eliminates the need for loop compensation, fast load transient response and simple circuit implementation. The operating frequency remains almost inversely different from the line due to the inverse relationship between input voltage and on-time. Its operating frequency can be externally programmed up to 1 MHz. _VCC protection features include undervoltage lockout, output overvoltage protection, thermal shutdown, and gate drive undervoltage lockout. The LM3102 is available in thermally enhanced eTSSOP-20 packages as well as uSMD low-profile chip-scale packages with reduced output current.
