The Regulator's LM22674 Series microcontrollers offer a step-down positive (step-down) switching regulator to drive all integrated circuits with a load capacity of up to 500 mA with superior voltage and load regulation characteristics. High efficiency ("90%) is obtained through the use of low-resistance N-channel MOSFETs. The series consists of a fixed 5V output and an adjustable version.

On a simple switch ® The concept provides an easy-to-use complete design with minimal number of external components and national WEBENCH ® Design tools. WEBENCH of National Semiconductor ® Tools include functions for external component calculations, electrical simulation, thermal simulation, etc., and build-up of IT boards for ease of design. The clock switching frequency is made by an internal fixed frequency oscillator, operating at 500 kHz. The LM22674 series also features built-in thermal shutdown, current limiting, and enable control inputs that can shut down the power regulator to stand by a low quiescent current of 25μA.
