The LM25007 is a monolithic step-down switching regulator with all the features required for a low-cost, efficient, power supply. With the ability to drive over a 0.5Amp load within a 9V - 42V input voltage range, this device is easy to apply and is available in small MSOP-8 and thermally enhanced firm-8 packages. The ultra-fast transient response is fed forward by an input voltage through a fixed time architecture. This feature provides an almost constant operating frequency for overload and input voltage variations. Its operating frequency can be adjusted by a resistor. This architecture is easy to use and tolerant of component selection. A smart current limit on the LM25007 is inversely proportional to the implementation of forced off-time to the output voltage, thus ensuring recovery from a fault condition. The output voltage can be set from 2.5V to > 30V. To improve efficiency in light load applications, the Vcc pin can be connected to an external voltage source, eliminating the dip through internal regulation. Other features include VCC undervoltage lockout during thermal shutdown, gate drive undervoltage lockout, and maximum duty cycle limiter.
