The LM25061 actively hot-swappable controller provides intelligent control of the supply voltage in inserting and removing circuit cards from a live system backplane or other "hot" power source load. The LM25061 provides inrush current control to limit system voltage dips and transients. The programmable current limit and external series of transferred N-channel MOSFETs ensure safe operation (SOA) operation. A power good output indicates when the output voltage exceeds a programmable threshold. The levels and hysteresis at the input voltage are programmable, as well as the initial insertion delay time and fault detection time. The LM25061-1 latches after fault detection, while the LM25061-2 automatically restarts at a fixed duty cycle. The LM25061 is available in a 10-pin MSOP package.
