While the LM25061 actively hot-swap controller provides intelligent control of the supply voltage when plugged into and off loads from field system backplanes or other "hot" power supply circuit cards. The LM25061 also provides inrush current control to limit system voltage dips and transients. Current limit and external series adjustment of the power dissipation of the N-channel MOSFET are programmable to ensure operation in a safe operating area (SOA). The power good output indicates when the output voltage exceeds a programmable threshold. Input undervoltage levels and hysteresis are programmable, as well as initial insertion delay time and fault detection time. While the LM25061-1 latches up, fault detection while the LM25061-2 automatically fixes the duty cycle to restart. The LM25061 is available in a 10-pin MSOP package.
