The LM2576 series regulators are monolithic integrated circuits that provide all buck (buck) switching regulators, driving 3A load capacity with excellent line and load regulation active functions. These devices can be supplied with fixed output voltages of 3.3V, 5V, 12V, 15V, and adjustable output versions.
Requiring a minimal number of external components, these regulators are simple to use and include internal frequency compensation and fixed-frequency oscillators.
The LM2576 series offers a popular three-terminal linear regulator with high replacement efficiency. It greatly reduces the size of the heatsink, and in some cases, no heat sink is necessary.
The standard series inductors produced by several different manufacturers can be optimized for the LM2576. This feature greatly simplifies the design of switching power supplies.
Other features include a guaranteed 4% tolerance of the ± output voltage at the specified input voltage and output load conditions, with a frequency of ± 10% of the oscillator. External shutdown with 50μA (typical) standby current. The output switches include cycle-by-cycle current limiting and thermal shutdown for full protection under fault conditions.
