The voltage regulator LM2585 series is a monolithic IC specifically designed for flyback, step-up (boost), and forward converter applications. The device is available in 4 different output voltage versions: 3.3V, 5.0V, 12V, and adjustable.
Requiring a minimum number of external components, these regulatory bodies are cost-effective and easy to use. Typical circuits for boost and flyback regulators included in the datasheet. While listing diodes and capacitors and a home of standard design work, these switching regulator inductors and flyback transformers are selected guides.
The power switch is a 3.0A NPN device that can be independently turned off to 65V. Protect power switch current and thermal limit circuit, undervoltage lockout circuit. The IC contains an internal oscillator at a fixed frequency of 100 kHz, allowing the use of small magnetics. Other features include a soft-start mode to reduce inrush current, repulsion to improve input voltage and output load transient response during start-up, and cycle-by-cycle current limit repulsion, and current-mode control. The output voltage tolerance is ± 4%, which guarantees the power supply system under the specified input voltage and output load conditions.
