LM2590HV Series regulators are monolithic integrated circuits that provide a positive step-down (buck) switching regulator capable of driving all the functions of a 1A load with excellent line and load regulation. These devices are available in 3.3V, 5V, and adjustable output versions with fixed output voltages.
This series of switching regulators is similar LM2591HV more supervision and performance characteristics.
Requiring a minimal number of external components, these regulators are simple to use and include internal frequency compensation †, improved line and load specifications, fixed frequency oscillators, shutdown/soft start, output error flags, and flag delays.
LM2590HV operate switching frequency at 150 kHz, thus enabling smaller sizes with lower frequency switching regulators required filter components. The standard 7-pin TO-220 package differs from several options that result in bending, and the 7-pin TO-263 surface mount package.
Other features include a guaranteed 4% tolerance under all conditions under the input voltage and output load conditions of the ± output voltage, and a frequency of ± 15% for the oscillator. Includes external shutdown with a typical 90μA standby current. Self-protection features include a two-stage current limit, output switch, and complete protection in the event of an over-temperature shutdown fault.
