LM2592HV series regulators are monolithic integrated circuits that provide active buck (buck) switching regulators with excellent line and load regulation for all functions of driving 2A loads. These devices are available in 3.3V, 5V, and adjustable output versions with fixed output voltages.
This series of switching regulators is a similar LM2593HV, but without the regulatory and performance characteristics of the latter.
Requiring a minimal number of external components, these regulators are simple to use, including internal frequency compensation †, improved line and load specifications, and fixed frequency oscillators.
LM2592HV operating switching frequency at 150 kHz, thus enabling smaller sizes with lower frequency switching regulators required filter components. In a standard 5-pin TO-220 package with several different options that result in bending, and a 5-pin TO-263 surface-mount package.
Other features include a guaranteed 4% tolerance under all conditions under the input voltage and output load conditions of the ± output voltage, and a frequency of ± 15% for the oscillator. Includes external shutdown and typically has 90μA standby current. Self-protection features including two-stage current limit to complete protection under output switch and over-temperature shutdown fault conditions.
