The LM2621 is a high-efficiency, step-up DC-DC switch for battery-powered and low-input voltage system regulators. It accepts an input voltage of 1.2V and 14V and converts it into a stable output voltage. The output voltage can be adjusted between 1.24V and 14V. It has an internal 0.17 N-channel MOSFET power switch. Efficiency of up to 90% is achievable with LM2621.

The LM2621 with a high switching frequency (adjustable to 2MHz) allows for the use of tiny surface-mount inductors and capacitors. Due to the unique constant duty cycle gated oscillator topology, very high efficiency is achieved over a wide load range. This supply current is reduced to 80μA due to the BiCMOS process technology. In shutdown mode, the supply current is less than 2.5μA.

The LM2621 is available in a small SO-8 package. This software package uses a standard 8-pin SO half the board area with a height of 1.09 mm.
