illustrate
The LM2623 is a high efficiency, universal utility, boost DC-DC switching regulated battery-powered and low input voltage system. It accepts an input voltage between 0.8 and 14 volts and converts it to a regulated output voltage between 1.24 and 14 volts. Efficiency up to 90% is achievable with LM2623.
To accommodate a wide range of applications, the LM2623 allows designers to vary the output voltage, operating frequency (300kHz to 2MHz), and duty cycle (17% to 90%) performance optimization. The selected value can be fixed or can be proportional to battery voltage or input-output voltage. The LM2623 uses a very simple on/off supervision mode to produce good efficiency and stable operation over a wide operating range. It is usually regulated by skipping the switching cycle when it reaches the regulatory limit (pulse frequency modulation).
Note: Please read the "Nonlinear Effects" and "Choosing the Right C3 Capacitor" section of this datasheet for the Design Steps section, which is designed to make any challenges that can be considered for front plate design/layout finalization.
