The LM2623 is a high-efficiency, general-purpose, step-up DC-DC switch-regulated battery-powered and low input voltage system. It accepts an input voltage between 0.8 and 14 volts and converts it into a regulated output voltage between 1.24 and 14 volts. The efficiency is up to 90%, which can be achieved with the LM2623.
To accommodate a large number of applications, the LM2623 allows designers to vary the performance optimization of the output voltage, operating frequency (300kHz to 2MHz), and duty cycle (17% to 90%) sections. The selected value can be fixed or can be ratioed with the battery voltage or input-output voltage. The LM2623 uses a very simple on/off supervision mode that produces good efficiency and stable operation over a wide operating range. It is usually regulated by skipping the switching cycle when it reaches the regulation limit (pulse frequency modulation).
