The LM2623 is a high efficiency, universal utility, step-up DC-DC switch for battery-powered and low input voltage system regulators. It accepts an input voltage of 0.8 volts, converting 14 to a regulated output voltage between 1.24 and 14 volts. Efficiency up to 90% is achievable with LM2623.
To accommodate the number of applications, the LM2623 allows designers to vary the output voltage, operating frequency (300 kHz to 2 MHz), and duty cycle (17% to 90%) to optimize device performance. The selected value can be fixed or can be proportional to battery voltage or input-output voltage. The LM2623 uses a very simple on/off supervision mode to produce good efficiency and stable operation over a wide operating range. It typically reaches the settling limit (pulse frequency modulation) when adjusting by skipping the switching cycle.
