The LM2651 switching regulator provides high efficiency over 100:1 load range (1.5A to 15mA) power conversion. This feature makes the LM2651 ideal for long battery life in both running and standby modes required in battery-powered applications.
For synchronous rectification to achieve up to 97% efficiency. At light loads, the LM2651 enters a low-power hysteresis or "sleep" mode to maintain high efficiency. In many applications, loads with an efficiency of 15mA are still over 80%. A stop pin can be used to disable the LM2651 by reducing the supply current by less than 10μA.
Includes patented LM2651 current-mode control current sense circuit. This feature eliminates the need for external current sense resistors to other current-mode DC-DC converters.
The LM2651 has a 300 kHz fixed frequency internal oscillator. High vibration frequencies allow for very small, low-profile components to be used.
The programmable soft-start feature limits the inrush current from the input power supply at startup and provides an easy way to sequence multiple power supplies.
Other protection features include current-limited input undervoltage lockout, and over-temperature shutdown.
