The LM2657 is an adjustable 200kHz-500kHz dual-channel voltage mode controlled high-speed synchronous buck regulator controller that is ideal for high current applications. The LM2657 requires only N-channel FETs for the upper and lower positions of each stage. It has a feedforward to improve the transient response to the input. At very light loads, users can choose between high-efficiency pulse hopping mode or fixed-frequency forced PWM mode. Lossless current without external detection Resistor restrictions are made possible by detecting the voltage drop at the bottom of the FET. A unique adaptive duty cycle clamping technology that greatly reduces peak currents incorporated under normal load conditions. Two independent programmable output switches 180° out of phase (staggered switching) reduce input capacitor and filter requirements. The input voltage range is 4.5V to 28V, while the output voltage is adjustable as low as 0.6V.

Standard supervision and control features include soft start, good power, output undervoltage and overvoltage protection, undervoltage lockout, and chip enable.
