The LM2665's CMOS charge pump voltage converter operates as an input voltage multiplier of five in the +2.5 to +5.5 V range Two low-cost capacitors and diodes (required at startup) are used in this circuit to deliver up to 40 mA of output current. The LM2665 can also be used as a voltage divider to split the +1.8 V voltage range from half to +11 five.

The LM2665 output operates at a 160 kHz oscillator to reduce resistance and voltage ripple frequency. With operating at only 650 μA (operating efficiencies greater than 90% for most loads) and a typical current of 1μA shutdown current, the LM2665 battery-powered system provides ideal performance. The device is available in an SOT-23-6 package.
