TheLM2672 series regulators are monolithic integrated circuits with a built-in LMDMOS process. These regulators offer all active buck (buck) switching regulators capable of driving 1A load current with excellent line and load regulation. These devices are available in 3.3V fixed output voltage, 5.0V, 12V adjustable output versions.
Requiring a minimum number of external components, these regulators are simple to use and include internal frequency compensation patents (patent numbers 5382918 and 5514947), fixed frequency oscillators, external shutdown, soft start, frequency synchronization.
LM2672 series switching frequency operates on 260 kHz This enables a small size ratio to the lower frequency switching regulator required for filter components. Due to its very high efficiency (> 90%), the copper trace of the printed circuit board is the only heat dissipation need.
A standard inductor for a home with the LM2672 is available from several different manufacturers.
